Whitcher Wildlife Ltd were commissioned to carry out bat surveys of a series of old derelict industrial buildings that were planned for demolition. The surveys included daytime, dusk emergence and dawn swarming bat surveys carried out on all of the buildings.

The surveys identified small numbers of Pipistrelle bats foraging and roosting within the buildings. Therefore a Natural England licence application to cover the demolition of the buildings was applied for and obtained.

Works will be ongoing to carry out precautionary exclusion works and soft demolition over the winter 2016/2017 in line with the Natural England licence covering the works.
