Testimonials About Whitcher Wildlife Ltd

Here are just a few of our glowing testimonials from our many happy clients.

"For a demolition and re-build planning application we were required to carry out a bat and breeding bird survey. We contacted Whitcher Wildlife who carried out the survey which discovered a maternity roost of bats in the house to be demolished. Steven worked with us and the planning authority to come up with a successful mitigation strategy which was approved and we implemented.

Steven always had in mind the affect both financially and from a timescale point of view this unforeseen discovery was having on our build, whilst keeping our interests at the forefront and maintaining the ecological requirements.

The result has been successfully rehousing a colony of bats and progression of constructing our new home and would have no hesitation in recommending Whitcher Wildlife for the professionalism and approach of Derek and Steven."

"We first had to employ the expertize of Whitcher Wildlife in 2010 as part of a Project Management Contract at Meltham Mills Reservoir near Holmfirth in which ,for reservoir safety reason, part of an ancient woodland had to be removed and an established badger sett relocated.

Steven Whitcher visited site promptly and organized initially full ecological surveys to satisfy Kirklees Planning and Regeneration Department as to the methods of working and the sympathetic way in which the essential development works were to be carried out.

The companies involvement was then extended to the humane re location of a larger Badger set and the consultation and obtaining of the necessary licences and permits from Natural England.

The re location was not without its problems and had to be delayed 9 months into the next appropriate season.

The works and expertise of Whitcher Wildlife enabled the eventual completion of the works which were highly praised by the Environment Agency as an example of what can be achieved by private funding. The site now being completely naturalized again.

As a direct result of Whitcher Wildlife’s expertise and professionalism we have not hesitated but to continue to use their services for a number supporting roles for planning application involving full environment and ecological reports for potential development sites and the monitoring and reporting on bat and other wildlife presence in both open derelict quarry sites and derelict buildings."
